What is Chi Nei Tsang

Chi Nei Tsang is an holistic approach to healing by directly massaging the abdominal organs.

It is a massage practice developed over centuries, by Taoist monks, to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the body emotionally and physically. Chi Nei Tsang massages help to clear toxins and blockages in order to encourage blood and energy flow around the body to reinvigorate its function, physically and emotionally. Relaxation is one great benefit, but there are many others: improved mood and wellbeing as well as addressing specific issues like bowel movements and poor digestion. All Bodkin’s therapeutic abdominal massages are based on this ancient Chinese practice.

Part of good Chi Nei Tsang practice is helping people to help themselves improve their own health by learning how to do self-abdominal massage too. So, we run classes and show people techniques and exercises to help themselves.

Sessions

1 session is a good initial taster. However, a minimum course of 3 sessions is recommended as the benefits accrue over a number of sessions. It’s best to have no more than 2 weeks between each session to get the best effects.

5-8 sessions is the optimum number as this allows the benefits of the practice to build.
